Short Term
Car Insurance and the 7 foot Woman
Short term car
insurance is a must if you borrow your neighbor’s car and drive to
Las Vegas in the middle of the night. I’m not sure if short term car
insurance covers the car if you take the car without the owner’s
permission, but I wasn’t taking chances.
It was around midnight when I pulled over to pick up a hitch-hiking
clown on the side of the 15 freeway. He was a funny little guy.
Standing about 4 feet tall, Darby the Clown had bright blue hair and
a giant red nose. He would occasionally squeeze his nose, emitting a
strange honking sound. He didn’t speak a word – until we picked up
Noel, the world’s tallest woman, a few miles up the road.

Darby was obviously
smitten by the 7 foot beauty and tried every pick-up line in the
book to woo her over. The courting was going nowhere and soon Darby
calmed down and fell asleep next to Noel. Noel told me she was going
to Vegas for the big slot tournament at Caesar’s. She was sure she
was going to win and was very excited. There are a million reasons
people head to Las Vegas every weekend.
I was going to the big short term car insurance convention at the
Flamingo hotel. I was interested in hearing insurance agents from
across the nation explain why everyone should consider short term
car insurance. I was quite certain it would be a thrilling
convention and was hoping to collect many free pens and note-pads
from the different agents.
I dropped off Noel and Darby at Caesar’s Palace on the way to the
Flamingo. Noel had warmed up to Darby and I think romance may have
followed the couple into the casino. I pulled up to the valet at the
Flamingo and handed the keys to the young attendant. As I was
walking toward the front door, I heard the young man say something
about my car smelling like clowns.
At the registration desk I was upgraded to a parking lot view room
on the first floor. I was thrilled at being treated like a
high-roller and went to the room to unpack. After a quick shower and
short glance at the wheel-level view from my window, I headed out to
the casino floor to play a little keno before the speakers take the
stage. I was up over $3 when it was time to head toward the lecture
hall.
